Commercial AC Installation & Replacement Services in McKinney, TX

McKinney's commercial buildings range from historic storefronts around the downtown square to modern office parks, medical buildings, and light industrial facilities, and installing an air conditioning unit in each calls for different skills. Older buildings may have limited roof structure, tight mechanical spaces, and ductwork that never matched modern equipment. Newer buildings need correct sizing and a clean installation from day one. KMI A/C and Heating provides commercial AC installation and AC replacement in McKinney, TX, for both, with certified technicians who adapt to the building in front of them.

Our team of experienced commercial HVAC contractors works with businesses of all sizes to design and install efficient cooling systems that match your exact needs. We specialize in rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and more, offering quality products from leading brands.

Tailored Commercial AC Installation for Your Business

Installing a new ac unit in an older building is not a simple swap. We look at the whole system first.

What We Check in Older Buildings:

• Roof structure, curb condition, and weight capacity
• Access for cranes, lifts, and equipment delivery
• Ductwork age, size, material, and leaks
• Electrical service and disconnects
• Insulation levels that affect your cooling load
• Condensate routing to protect ceilings and walls

Common Challenges and How We Solve Them:

• Undersized ducts: We repair, resize, or add runs so cooling reaches every room
• Leaky ductwork: We seal or replace sections to stop cooling from escaping above the ceiling
• Tight equipment spaces: We choose units that fit and remain serviceable
• Mismatched roof curbs: We install adapter curbs so new units fit existing openings
• Aging electrical: We coordinate upgrades so the new equipment runs safely
• Old R-22 systems: We replace them with matched modern equipment

Questions McKinney Business Owners Ask

Can I install a modern ac unit with my old ductwork? Often yes, but we inspect the ducts first. If they are leaking or too small, we recommend repairs so your new system performs as designed.

How long does an installation take? Many replacements finish in one day. Larger buildings, crane work, or duct modifications can take longer, and we give you a clear timeline in advance.

What size ac unit do I need? The right size depends on a load calculation, not square footage alone. We measure your building's real needs.

Energy Efficiency and Your New McKinney AC Unit

A new air conditioning unit with higher efficiency ratings uses less electricity for the same cooling. Efficiency also depends on how well the whole system is installed.

• Correct refrigerant charge and airflow protect efficiency from day one
• Sealed ducts deliver the cooling you pay for
• A properly sized ac unit runs in steady cycles instead of short bursts
• Regular filter changes and preventive maintenance keep performance high
